The Ideas & Issues Division of University Union in collaboration with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Lambda Alliance Presents: Greek & Gay.

This panel discussion moderated by LGBT Advisor, Jon Hurst, will explore the various stereotypes and messages associated with homosexuality in Greek fraternities and sororities.

With 24 percent of UGA students involved in Greek organizations, this event will open a dialogue about the relationship between the LGBTQ community and Greek Life.

Come out to R.A.C.E. (Recognizing and Celebrating Ethnicities)” tomorrow in Tate Grand Hall at 7pm.

The event will fuse a variety of cultures, traditions, and shared ideologies together to celebrate our unique ways of living. The event will display performing arts (music, dance, etc.), ethnic foods, and an assortment of acts representative of many different cultures. There will be more than 15 student organizations in attendance to support their respective traditions. Also, enjoy food from Cali-N-Titos, Kelly’s, NONA, and Transmetropolitan! This event is sponsored by University Union’s Committee for Black Cultural Programming and Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc.

This event is FREE FOR STUDENTS AND NON-STUDENTS.

University Union presents John Corvino: Haters, Sinners and the Rest of Us the Gay Debate Today.

Dr. John Corvino, also known as “The Gay Moralist” draws on two decades of speaking experience to promote a better conversation on these issues. Using his trademark combination of logical rigor, sensitivity and humor, he challenges people from all sides to rethink easy assumptions in the increasingly divisive culture wars.

This event will take place Wednesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tate Theatre

The Committee for Black Cultural Programming (CBCP) of University Union presents: ThinkFast! An Interactive Game Show that will put your black history knowledge to the test for CASH PRIZES. All students are welcome to compete.

There will be OVER $700 IN CASH PRIZES for the first, second and third place winners.

You may play solo or on teams of up to 4 students.

The event will take place Tuesday September 11 at 7:30 pm in Tate Grand Hall. Be sure to bring your UGA ID in order to participate.
